Question: Can't Bump. Can't duplicate. How long do I need to wait?

I'm kind of new to posting here after a one-year hiatus. Yesterday I wrote an ad that four people responded to via PM -- and I'm glad to say I made two deals. :)

I really like the way the ad was worded and I don't want to rewrite the ad a second time. Of the four responses, and two deals that where made, nobody responded to the thread. The thread that I started yesterday (around ~noon) has now quickly dropped to page 8.

So, now I have a dilemma. The way I understand the rules, I am not allowed to bump the thread, and I think I remember that duplicate content is not permitted either. So, how long am I supposed to wait before I can repost the same ad? Any suggestions or advice is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Just create a signature link that link to your offer. People will respond to you via PM if they like with your offer.

that's a thought dynashox. But to be honest I'm not really that chatty. I don't want to do anything rash, like go find sellers at another forum for a few days. Couldn't I just delete that old post every 48 hours or something like that?

If you're allowed to do that. What about the other members? They also will do the same thing. And from there on, no matter what you do, you thread will be drop to the next pages.

Ive received many infractions and been banned a number of times because of that very reason, i would have thought there would be a fine line and in all fairness 24 should be enough imo to be able to post the ad again since it will be on page 15 or something in 24 hours.

I only posted here to state that im interested in the answer to this and maybe a mod/admin could give a reasonable answer with out closing the thread ?

Im pretty sure there is something more reasonable to be figured out instead of getting slapped wrists every 5 mins.

Yes you make a good point. But the the thing is my thread was actually reasonably popular. (If any moderator can read my PMs, they'll see I sent to PayPals yesterday). The way the rules are currently structured, no one is allowed to even post:
    -'send info'
    -'I'm in'
    -'payment recieved'
    -etc.
So with the rules structured as they, popular yet articulate ads that need no further clarification tend to die faster than they should. Again, I made two deals yesterday, and my post is completely dead. I don't think that's the intention of the rules, but that's what has happened in my case.

thread bumping is not allowed. i suggest you use the report post button, close your thread and start another.
thats what i would do. ;)

and learn how to use the quote button [IMG]

We do not always grant close thread quests. Be advised we issue duplicate account infractions for users who request threads be closed only to repost. Constant reposting is a form of spam.

Dynashox's solution is the one we recommend.

Again, to make it clear...you can't close a thread, and then post a new thread that offers the same product or service...

Otherwise, as suggested, put a link to your thread in your signature.
