Whenever I look at my Facebook feed, I see half of the posts contain funny graphics, cartoons, animation. I also notice these get lots of share and likes. Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter as well. I'm a professional cartoonist and every rare once in a while I'll do a cartoon, usually political cartoon on my social media. I get great responses but it's just too much work. I had a client in China order like 500 cartoons from me a few years back for his company's social media sites as in Asia, especially Japan and Korea, cartoons are major, major industry. The main problem here is that in the US/Europe you can't afford a pro cartoonist unless you have barter/trade to offer instead of money. So have any of you used cartoons etc. for your campaigns and if so, how successful was it?
Cartoons and images in general are great for any marketing effort. It just cost much, as you said. But I think that many would benefit from cartoons and images, as most often ads would use images to sell their products.
Cartoons and animated images are great for marketing. They attract more customers to your products IMHO.
I am having my marketing team looking into creating an animated video to introduce some new, disruptive technology. We want to do a whiteboard animation much like the old UPS commercials used to show on TV: I have someone on staff who is artistically inclined and may be able to do the drawings for us and we are also looking into animation software that has this type of functionality. We have not yet taken any real steps into getting this done, but I think that it would be very effective and I hope to do so in the next month or two.
