QUESTION - Adsense Content Policy

Discussion in 'Guidelines / Compliance' started by The_Influence, Feb 24, 2011.

I know you can't put adsense on your site if it contains adult content, drugs, whatever.

BUT! - Would it be ok to have take the adsense off of pages that violate their TOS? Or does the entire site need to be in compliance?

    Thanks!

My guess is it will apply to entire website since the crawl starts from the root of your domain into the internal pages.

Am sure along the way, it will detect adult content.

I don't know the exact answer, but I can tell you this.

If you site contains adult/gambling content you are linking to it from other pages on your website. You cannot place AdSense on pages that link to adult content, so you can't show ads on adult/gambling pages AND you can not place them on pages that link to those pages. So that further limits your possibilities.

I particularly have no specific answer but I think I share your opinion. I suggest he should revisit the policy again...in case there is some information that will help him out.

that's the problem.. the policy is quite vague. it states "Sites with Google ads may not include or link to:.... blah blah blah" So my question is, does mean that NO WHERE on the site you may have *bad stuff* or just on the pages featuring google ads?

Yes, the entire site needs to be in compliance - or don't run the ads on those pages.
