question about webcrawling

    why is it some business do not want their business found via keyword web crawler etc.., i do graphic design and ive noticed several people request the comapnies name not be mentioned in a thread,. My question is why not? dont they want the publicity? its like free advertisment

    I can't think of any reasons for that, but that will be my decision too if such a situation occurs. Maybe because the company would like to discourage imitations.

    perhaps, i know i put my comapny all over the net, as much as possible, even used forums just to get the name out there
