I was given the SSLCertificateFile public.crt that was generated from Verisign. I was wondering if I also have to get a new private.key and intermediate.crt or if I can use the old ones. thanks for your time.
You will need to refresh them all, maybe a rekey. depends on how old they are. Consult your hosting provider or cert provider.
Verisign is very good with private and intermediate keys. Regenerate your on your end and send them the .txt file with your account information. They will respond within the hour with updated certs.
