I wanted to get some opinions on whether there is any value to paying to add those trust seals like eTrust to a product review site. I think it gives people more comfort to click through on affiliate links, but I don't know if it would be worth the cost. Anyone have experience with adding a trust seal to your site?
People are smart enough to be skeptical of most things online. What people trust is BRANDS, brands they know.
There will be people who are skeptical about those seals, but there will be those who believe in those seals. It probably won't affect your sales that much, maybe 0,01% increase in conversion, but it does add a nice touch to your salespage/website well, at least that's my opinion, greetz, jobic
I've seen so many people try to use those seals to trick people that they actually raise a ref flag with me when I see them. I much more inclined to go somewhere I've seen on TV, or heard about in numerous other places that doesn't have any seals than I am somewhere that shows off those seals on the site itself. I use Amazon because it's well known, I couldn't tell you if they have any sort of seal or not.
