Are those mp3 sites legal? I'm talking about the mp3 sites with the script where you can search for any song and either listen to it online or download it, sites like www.mp3egg.com.

They are legal as long as you download copyright free music. If you use them to download popular songs that are copyrighted then it's illegal.

If you read the bottom of the page

Well sites like that still provide the means to download the music, even though its not hosted there. Wouldnt it still be illegal?

Yes. It doesn't matter where the files are hosted. If you are a US citizen, or a citizen of any other country that adheres to copyright law (or doing business in ) it is illegal.

If you are in China, or Pakistan or some other country where your government doesn't give a crap, then it is still illegal according to most international laws, but you will probably get away with it since you are in a rogue country.
