I am working on a site right now that was created in July of 2004. It was nevery realy promoted, and only had a few backlinks. It's sitting at PR3 right now.

My question is does it stand a better chance to get covered with the sand box filter because it is "older"

The site is perfect for optimization...go for it. PR3 will be a PR4 in 3 months if you add allot of links and content.

Sirjx, backlinks are basically links BACK to your website from other domains. Links certainly do help rankings, research your keywords, and use these keywords within the text of the link, i.e. Cool webmaster tools

    Hope this helps
