Question about the PageRank for Directories

I need some clarity here. I'm looking to submit to some paid link directories (still trying to figure out the good ones), but I am a little confused. I know that the idea is to get a high PR site to link to you. It seems that the higher the PR the site is the more the link costs.

Hypothetically, say I pay $20 to submit to a web directory that has a PR5 on its homepage. However, the page my link shows up on is only PR2. Do I get 'credited' for a PR5 link because the homepage of the web directory is PR5 or am I really only paying for a PR2 link because of the page my link is actually located on?

This may seem like a stupid question, but it seems awfully ridiculously to pay $30 for a link that shows up on a PR0 page because the directory's homepage is PR5.

    Thanks for any clarity.

The PR is page specific, so it has to do witht he page your link is on.

Find directories that are most likely to send traffic first ;) . After that worry about link value.

Right on. So I want to submit my article directory to some high quality directories. Which ones will send me that good traffic you speak of? ;)
