Question about the leaderboard banner (768 x 40)

On some sites, especially forums, they use the leaderboard banner but only display one big ad in big fonts. I would like to do this and I believe it will get me more clicks than the other 3-4 ad format. How do I go about accomplishing this? Is this a premium only feature? I could not find out how to do it with my adsense control panel.

Thanks in advance. Oh, and this is my first post. I recently discovered this forum a few days ago and I think the community is awesome.

Google serves those ads off and on, just make sure you are set to text AND images. On my sites there is no apparent pattern to when they appear.

I think you're referring to site-targeted text ads. These ads appear when an advertiser specifically bids on your site on a CPM basis.

Currently, it's not possible to display only CPM ads, but you might want to customize your Onsite Advertiser Sign-up page and read more about CPM ads if you're interested in attracting this type of bid.

Kool - I always wondered what the deal was with those ads - I just figured they were a way to combat the whole pictures next to the Google Ads things to increase the CTR that so many people seem to be subscribing to. I didn't realise what they were but I get them on my sites all the time.
