On some sites, especially forums, they use the leaderboard banner but only display one big ad in big fonts. I would like to do this and I believe it will get me more clicks than the other 3-4 ad format. How do I go about accomplishing this? Is this a premium only feature? I could not find out how to do it with my adsense control panel. Thanks in advance. Oh, and this is my first post. I recently discovered this forum a few days ago and I think the community is awesome.
It's 728x90 and I believe only one ad appears sometimes due to "Smart Pricing". http://www.google.com/search?q=smart+pricing
Google serves those ads off and on, just make sure you are set to text AND images. On my sites there is no apparent pattern to when they appear.
I think you're referring to site-targeted text ads. These ads appear when an advertiser specifically bids on your site on a CPM basis. http://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/answer.py?answer=17948 Currently, it's not possible to display only CPM ads, but you might want to customize your Onsite Advertiser Sign-up page and read more about CPM ads if you're interested in attracting this type of bid. Kool - I always wondered what the deal was with those ads - I just figured they were a way to combat the whole pictures next to the Google Ads things to increase the CTR that so many people seem to be subscribing to. I didn't realise what they were but I get them on my sites all the time.
