Should I disable the ads displaying on the content network and just have them displaying for search results or leave them on both. We do not seem to get near the impressions on content network as we do on search pages.
Are you running a CPM or PPC campaign? I looked at your web site and it seems that you are a local business providing local services. In that case I would only use the search network. That way your ads will show for people who are searching for your services. On the content network they will show on websites that are related to your keywords.
That is exactly the reason I was asking. I have geo targeted the regions we service so that our ads should not display for people outside our region. I didn't know if this worked for the content network though. I know it does for the search pages though. I just didn't want to be wasting ads showing up on some car forum where some guy in California is having a termite problem and talking to his buddies. Thanks
I would not use the content network. Your ad is going to show for people who are not specifically searching for your service. Also you are going to have a lower CTR since you are going to have a lot more impressions.
Ah thanks I didn't really think about it causing a lower CTR. Glad I joined the site. Good info on my first day posting.
I'm going to re-post this topic as I think there is a wide misconception out there regarding the content network and local advertising.
