Hello, I hope this forum is the best one to ask this question about the Buy, Sell, or Trade forum located below. I am curious to know how this works. If I purchase a site, does that mean the files and domain would be transfered over to me? Thanks

You need to read the offer carefully to determine excatly what you are buying. The vast majority of traders here are honest people. In any case where you have questions always ask them before you bid.

Sometimes you just get access to the existing site and must transfer the files yourself. Sometimes you get a backup of the site. I have seen very few offers at the low end pricing that offer to move the site for you.

Like he said ^^^^. Different sellers have different terms. For example, I was recently selling a site, and offered free transfer. But the transfer had to be in house on with same web hosting company. Then if the seller did not want that hosting, they would have to move the site!

Why not to buy site with hosting, that way you not risking to lose it in transferring from one hosting to another?

When you say you are purchasing a site, it means a domain + all the files and database but not the hosting.

However, you can always PM the seller and ask the specifics,

Yes sorry for the confusion. I plan to do my own transfer and hosting. I just wanted to make sure that I didn't have to just take over someone's hosting provider and domain if I didn't want it. I only need the files and the database.
