does it? i would assume not. mainly because that would make it real easy for webmasters to spam 100's of subdomain names without paying for regular domain name? am i wrong?
subdomain usually good if you own the main domain.. becaues there are some sites that provide free sudomain hosting..in that context i think its value is a little less than the situation below like i own iraad.com, if i make a subdomain.. www.blog.iraad.com it shouldnt matter much as both are mine..and in any case the visitor tries to visit the main domain to check out what there is..my website would get traffic.. also free sub domain hosting doesnt look professional.
i guess i was looking in terms of subdomain name and content similiar to main domain content. for example ienjoyfootball.com and then have eagles.ienjoyfootball.com raiders.ienjoyfootball.com would those new domains carry the same weight as if i bought a brand new domain called ienjoyeaglesfootball.com etc...?
subdomains are completely new domains in the eye of search engines. yes, you can create 1k subdomains on a main domain like ÅŸdlkfdÅŸlkfdfkmkldgk.sitename.com . do you think this domain will be good for your visitors and search engines? if you want to start a new site, it's better to register a new domain
personally if you already own the subdomain..then if your main site itself is pretyt relevant to your site content, then i dont get why do you need to make a similar sub domain..yeah if you make like store.mydomain.com and support.mydomain.com that is understandable and is the standard way done by many sites.. otherwise else i think you should stick to your main domain.
