    Quick question,

I am a newbie to stock trading... is there an online service that does all the work for us? I mean without me having to trade manually?

I basically want to know what is the best service for beginners, even if not 100% automated.

I just got started with trading with stocks and they are only virtual stocks so you don't lose any money but you can win money. It's pretty cool, it has all the things about regular stock trading but none of money spent. PM me if you want the link.

Getting back to the original question: I currently work in the financial services industry (I sell software/consulting to investment managers.) There are all kinds of vendors out there that will do as little as make a trade for you all the way up to managing your investments (picking stocks, taking care of your tax filings, etc.) Of course, the fee varies based upon what you are looking for. Can you be a bit more specific about what you are looking for in terms of services?

I have a scottrade account that allows me to make trades for only $7.00 a trade. Plus you only need $500 (I think) to open up an account with them. If you do your research, you'll see this is one of the best deals out there. The only drawback is that you don't have any sort of advisor. You have to do your own research (they provide resources though). I prefer to do the legwork myself, so this works out better for me.
