Hello all, I have a website which on which I have a three word Anchor text pointing to my homepage of the website. This anchor text is at the footer link and for SERP its number1. I have a two word keyword which is on page2 now. Is it a BAD idea to add one more stie-wide link pointing to my homepage from leftnav this time. That would end up as two sitewide links to my homepage but with different anchor phrases - one in the left nav and one in the footer. Any thoughts based upon your experience would help. Thanks.
When adding links, always think if it would be useful for your visitors. If not, better don't do it. If your visitors are going to curse because they think that that link will direct them to a new page, but instead brings them back to the start. Then I think it is not a great idea to add it. Google did not make all the rules and all the factors in the algorithm to make it difficult for us. Or to turn it into a game. Google added all the factors to judge the quality of a site. So, just build a quality site and don't try to 'trick' google into giving you better positions for an extra sitewide link.
