Question about site maps and google...

    What is the benefits of adding your site map to google? How does this affect site rank?

    I don't think it helps your rank at all. It helps find any problems within your site that could cause indexing problems with the Google spider. It also helps you block pages or give higher priority to pages. Just submitting a sitemap shouldn't increase your rankings.

    By adding a weekly updated XML Sitemap, Google can see the new pages added and the changes that were made.

    So far, there is no proof that it helps in ranking.
