Question about Servers and Gaming

    Just wondering, when you try to buy a server Slot, is that a dedicated IP for you to use on that game?

    How does buying game servers work?


    Also, how could I go about setting up my own game servers from home?

    They don't need to provide you a dedicated IP, they can easily forward a port for you or set a game to host on a specific port.

    So, by buying a slot, you are basically buying a Port to use....do other people get the same port?

    Not really because you are accessing your application on that port. That port defines your "area".
