Question about SEO and new domain

I have a question about a new domain name and website I am working on. I have the a shell of a site up, not much is functional. I am about a month away from having it to where I want it to be.

My question is, I have a few other websites, should I go ahead and place a few (maybe 20 or so) backlinks, just to get the spiders started and shorten any sandbox time? Or would it be better to wait and start building links and RSS syndication after completion?

If you have content on your site I would point links to it from all your other sites.

If there is just a holding page then maybe there is not much point yet.

I agree. As long as something is up on the site, you should start to gather links because the sooner your site is indexed by google, the sooner you will get out of the sandbox.

As far as getting indexed by SEs concerned , I think, sooner the better.

Place a link to your site in your signature at DP. Thats a real fast way to get indexed.

I agree. A link in your signature is a good way to get indexed. Start the time for the sandbox wait counting down.
