I have this question about selling links. First off, I am pretty aware that Google is activelly looking for link sellers to get them out their index. Despite of that, I really would like to know how much would pay for renting a link on website. For example, I have these clean sites with no outbound links and decent PR. One of those sites has really powerful inbound links comming from yahoo directory and dmoz. Honestly, I do not want to sell links, but I am kind on a crisis and I need cash. Is there any average rate or rule to sell links? I have received offers from SEO companies offering up to $ 200 for a link in a page for period of three months which I refused at that moment (i regret now). However, checking the link sales forum, some guys are selling very cheap links. That really confused me. Just to give an example, how much would you pay for a HomePage PR4 link on a site that has no outbound links and 1000 inbound links from quality domains? I really need your help to set a price. Thanks.
You can do it, but I wouldn't sell more than 5 onto your site, anymore than that, it will look spammy. My saying is "if you are going to do it, do it causing minimal risk possible"
Can really tell you the rate without knowing what is your requirement of the link, the link can be as low as $1/month or up to few hundreds per month depends on the PR and traffic Anyway, tell more details about the requirement, then member can tell more accurate rate
Ok for example: A link on site with only two outbound links in home page, PR 4 and an average of 600 unique visitors per day. Listed on Yahoo, Dmoz and business directory. How much it would cost?
For me it is not good practice. We all must avoid doing this. Adopt natural methods for link building and ranking.
Google (read) accepts Link ads and selling links on your site is normal part of advertising. However, you have to see that those outbound links are not of low quality websites/bad neighbour links. make sure that the links are different from Google AdSense as well. You should not be having any issues if you pick the customers well.
It will also depend on the niche of the site edit: also if/when you get a baseline for the price of links and you want to go ahead, I would get links that are related to your site / niche no some random rubbish
