hi, After 18 months of know nothing much about SEO, SEs i have my site finally show 31 related sites any idea how google shows related sites as the next PR update is comming soon is that help my Page Rank to increase. Regards.
Google related command works on the principle that when two or more pages are linked to from many common pages they must be related. It is in the Google's patent: Techniques for finding related hyperlinked documents using link-based analysis Google seems to work on understanding link relationships rather that grouping sites by semantics (latent semantic indexing).
No, it doesn't. Don't focus on pagerank, as we don't know to what extent and what version does Google use. Focus on the quality of your site and link building with anchor text using your keywords.
most of the related sites I see for my website are sites linking to sites that link to me. I may add that they are the strongest linking sites or pages to sites that link to my site. for example if you have a link from nytimes.com/news than a related site can be either nytimes.com or an authority site that links to nytimes.com Just what I noticed, not sure at all. why they are always around 30 shown? G knows!
One more thing, beware of using link exchange, it ould makes your web popularity site up, but it could harm you page rank too
There is also another new thread on this http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=29765 (By the way, you may win the prize for the biggest signature ever )
Don't worry about it, soul-healer. Don't use link farms or other underhanded schemes to get links and you'll be fine. Just link to pages that make sense to your site and visitors to your site and try to obtain links to your pages from other sites/pages that are relevant or useful for your visitors and you'll be fine. I have no idea what Yulia is trying to say in that quote but as it stands it doesn't make sense.
Back links are the most important thing that worth to work on hardly is SEO ... the more back links you have the more PR you get >> the more level of spidering by google and may reach 100% of your site .. next step then will be the internal set up of your website pages s keywords (it s better to work on the anchor text of back links too)
An SEO is reporting that google toolbar will detect if you visit two sites repeatedly it could go into related: sites.
That's how the Alexa toolbar works. I believe Google's toolbar can also do that but their policy is to warn you when you enable features that pass any information at all back to Google -- IIRC, you'll get such a warning if you enable the Info button on the toolbar, which contains the submenu item "Similar Pages".
I noticed that if the pages that google shows on related:site are actually related to your site, then your ranking is good, if they are not, then your ranking is not good
