Hey DP, I need some advice from experienced sellers on ClickBank, so here I am! It's about my new ebook - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1160271 My plan was to sell it for $39.95 through CB and split the commission 50/50 with affiliates. The book is worth the money, and since I plan of providing lots of banner and text ads, I figured that for the right sellers, it would be pretty easy to move. However, with the current global recession, I'm wondering if $40 USD is simply too much for my target audience to pay. I don't think so, but a trusted colleague told me that $29.95 would be best. I plan on doing 50% commissions regardless of what the final price is, but I don't want to sell myself (or the affiliates) short. I am concerned with moving as many copies as possible, but I don't want my info to appear to be cheap because IMHO it's worth more than the $40. All the reviews that I have received so far have been great, so I know the product is solid. It's the market I'm worried about. Experienced sellers who are out there in the trenches moving ebooks, tell me what you think I should do! Thank you, I.C. Jackson
Well I can tell you now you won't get many takers for 50%. Many good affiliates here would expect no less than 75% and that's totally justified. What you should have done is extensively tested the pricing before launching it here as at the moment you expect your affiliates to send you traffic so you can test on the back of their efforts. If your serious about getting affiliates on board, raise the commission and then do some testing finding out what price point is best and what your conversion rates are like.
