Hello. I am needing lots more pages and content on my website.. so I'm wanting to add a blog to my site.. how does that work? Which one is the best?
Wordpress or blogger? Most people seem to like wordpress but I like bloggers user interface.

My question is.. when I put it on my website for example www.myurl.com/blog then it will have the blog on my page. but the blog is already created at www.blogexample.blogspot.com so will this count as duplicate content? And will the blogs count towards SEO for my website that i'm putting the blog on?

I hope i asked this question the right way.. lol thanks for any answers or suggestions :)

    Hi,

I am very much a wordpress fan because: the plugins are fantastic and offer a broad range of great addons: it is easy to use, for me it is wordpress all the way. I have done what you are thinking of here:

www.trafficfloodsecrets.com and just added a blog at www.trafficfloodsecrets.com/blog. I than add links from my blog to my site very focsued on keywords.

    cheers

You have to do your SEO work for your new website, yes it will be a duplicate content if both sites are up

lol hm duplicate content if both sites are up.. so uh.. how do you not have a blogger site up when using blogger on your website? hmmm lol

After seeing your post and Davally's it makes me think maybe I should just make articles and make the pages myself instead of having a blog.. would be funner and I'd learn more html that way.. hmm I dunnno anymore :( lol

First, I believe there may be more to your question here. WP and Blogger both offer a free blog... but WP also offers a hosted blog. It does not take very long to learn to use and use well. If you use the free blog, then the hosting site will get the SEO and content "credit".

In the first url above, this is an example of a hosted blog and you can use the hosted version of WP for this. I am not familiar with blogger (never used it) so my information here is limited.

The second url (which I assume is your existing blog) is a free blog. You could copy the files and install the blog onto you website as is and then it would be duplicate content but the blog on your website would provide the content and SEO "credit" to YOUR site.

Here is one possible solution: I believe you could redirect your visitors from the free blog to the new url and begin promoting your site with the new url until your traffic was converted to the new site. That may be a way to eliminate the duplicate content, provide content on your website and build your own SEO.

I hope this helps. Any input from some seasoned veterans?

Thank you for your comments. Hm I guess I need to look more into blogger if I plan on using it. I heard there was a way to have it on your site but I don't know any details about it yet.. I'm guessing there's not a way to upload it on your site then delete the blog so there is no duplicate content.. maybe i should just toughen up and use wordpress like everyone else haha. Because i want it hosted on my website.

What I'm needing is an easy way to add articles to my website so I can have more content. And I'm thinking about completely changing the template and putting less ads.. these are the 3 things people complain about my website.

    1. Ugly template/design/colors
    2. Too many ads
    3. Not enough content

Google it. I find my best free resource is Google... they provide where to find answers to everything.

Upload? Likely not. Copy and paste into a new blog file, yes. As far as deleting the free blog, google: delete a blogger blog -I can't post links yet, sorry :)

Rent or buy the book "Don't Make Me Think". It is an excellent resource for web design and an easy read (a few hours). Good Luck!
