Does this count as direct linking with Adwords? Destination URL: http://www.product-name.com (Redirects to productname.com) Display URL: http://www.productname.com Hmm, or if Adwords requires the destination URL and the display URL to atleast have the same domain, is there anyway I can make a hoplink using a CB products domain? Sometimes when I go to a Clickbank hop link, it takes me to http://www.productname.com/?hop=username
My understanding is the display url and the destination url must match. I'm not a big fan of direct linking, and any time I did use it in the past it was with content only campaigns and I used the keyword destination url, as opposed to the display/destination url, but that was before the change a couple months ago and haven't tried direct linking since, It's just too easy to make your own landingpage, and then go to the CB hop.
I guess I'm just going to give it a try, since I've found a few products that aren't already advertising on adwords. But yeah, I guess I'll go back to landing pages and such if my experiment turns out a failure. lemonarian: Hmm what if I wanted to add a TID parameter to that. Do you know how I'd go about doing that? Would it be something like the following? http://www.productname.com/?hop=username&TID=ad
The display URL and the destination URL don't have to match. The two things that have to match are the display URL and the final URL the visitor arrives to. If the product is at helloworld.com, you are directing traffic to welcomeworld.com which redirects to hello.world.hop.clickbank.net which redirects to helloworld.com, the display URL must be helloworld.com (it's the final URL the visitor sees). Google can't deny users from using tracking URLs (such as hoplinks), since all direct linkers will abandon them. They only require the final URL and the display URL to match as part of their quality guidelines (at the domain level. If the final URL is helloworld.com/meow/cat/dog.html, the display URL can be helloworld.com). Regarding the post above: NEVER send traffic to productname.com/?hop=youraffid if you want sales. Always send traffic through your hoplink, and there you also put your TID: affID.pubID.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=yourtid Good luck with your campaign, nadavs
Can I use my hoplink in an adword campaign? Example Fat Loss For Life get that fat off! get it off now! This is where my hoplink goes Where my hoplink goes can it also be from the example above 1. A blogspot? 2. can it be a direct hoplink with no landing page? I need this cleared up b/c it is driving me crazy and people really don't want to give EXACT info because they don't want more people in adwords taking their spots... everyone I ask they beat around the bush endlessly trying to explain it and not giving yes or no answers... driving me batty over here. I wish to start an adword campaign next week, I don't want to pay for a landing page, is there someway you can use adwords without using a landing page. Directly going to the advertisement would be preferred but also going to a blog would be okay as well.
Wow, thanks ALOT for the advice, nadavs. I love you. Pretty much answered all my questions and it helped me understand everything much better..
bunch - the destination URL can be anything you want, as long it's not against Google's rules. Don't sweat too much about it, just send traffic to where you'll get money (hoplink, blog, etc.). The display URL must match the final URL the visitor sees, otherwise your ad will be disapproved. If you're directing traffic to your blog, the display URL must be the address of the blog (like myawesomeblog.com). It can go through a million redirecting pages, the final page is important. If you are directing traffic to a hoplink which redirects to anawesomeproduct.com, the display URL must be anawesomeproduct.com. Hope that clears it, nadavs
Yep, I agree with nadavs, I had a couple of sales last week on CB just showing the destination URL and setting the link to my CB hop link. Whether thats the best way to do it or not - I'm open to suggestions cause its beena couple of days without a sale now - maybe my simple approach puts buyers off?
^ Ah, thanks for that. Hehe, gives me a little more motivation to try promoting via direct linking. Anyone else having success with it?
First I try direct linking, then after when I see that the product is converting well, I set up a landing page. This usually increase the conversion rate further.
nadavs, thank you so very much, yes this has cleared it up for me most certainly, I will now go on with my campaign and not worry so much. I could have done this months ago, but somewhere along the line someone steered me wrong. I don't like it when peole talk in circles and try to blur the vision of others only to keep them out of the money making area they are in.... I'm not naming names but watch out for people who say: It is against the rules. (listen but do your own research) It can't be done. (this person is trying to steer you away) I have failed in that area. (just because s/he failed doesn't mean you can't make it a success) There are so many more. Use your gut instinct, in this case above, I was told some bad facts. The person who told me is probably making a fortune and didn't want me near... As you see I went on and asked questions and no doubt, someone I trust answered them for me... Thank you nadavs for that.
