Hi i have been advised by a few people to make my site more friendly from an SEO point by changing permalinks. On wordress when i go to a post and edit the permalink, it seems that it doen it on all my posts? Thought i could individually change my permalink per post, but doesnt seem so. Is this because it is posts and not pages? If this is so, should i be changing my posts to pages? My site is exercise related and i have 'posts' or categories for running, swimming etc

    Any thoughts?

    Many thanks, Alan

You are not changing the permalink structure in an individual post by editing the title url.

just use %postname% what will include the title on the URL. there is not reason to add anything else to make the URL any bigger. this will change the permalink structure for all the pages. you can further edit the permalink manually when you make a post. for example, if your post title is "how to grill a perfect steak" where "perfect steak" is your keyword, you can edit the permalink to just have perfect-steak or whatever you like. this way you just have the main domain URL and the keyword on your post and nothing more.
