I have never sent money on PayPal before, if I send money will I be charged a fee or am I charged only when requesting money? What are the percentages? Any information is appreciated.

Sending is always free. However your credit card company or paypal make charge you for conversion fees if you are not paying in the same currency, ie if you are using a UK credit card to pay through Paypal for a US$ transaction. I believe Paypal will prompt you if you want them to handle the conversion or to bill you in US$ and let your bank do the conversion.

To see the fees, on Paypal's web site, click on 'Fees' at the bottom of the screen.
