I have a quick question about online businesses and would like to know what you guys think and know.

So lets say you try real hard to finally have a succesfull online business that makes money, and your happy with its earnings, but would like to see it do better.

Is it possible to buy another domain name, and copy the exact same website over and just change the banner at the top and change the name anywhere that is needed.

So you would have 2 of the same sites that are making money.

Would adwords be ok with this, this isnt really copyright because I own them both.

Let me know what you think or know about this situation.

    Thanks

If your not careful having the same content on multiple sites may very well drop your search engine ranking with Google.

Why do you want two sites? Are you targeting 2 separate specific market segments? If so, then it is worth writing new copy for the second web site.

It is not supposed to be good practice but if you look at http://www.ebgames.com/ and http://www.gamestop.com/ you will see that they are exactly as you have described.
EBgames even says powered by gamestop on it.

I often see both of these sites in the top 2 placements in the video game world and it pisses me off to no end as this is supposed to be against Google's policy

So it seems some people do do it............just might need to be worth a billion dollars or so before you can get away with it.

You can do it if the site is a wp site. Simply use a good rewriting plugin and you wont have a problem with duplicate content. But its better to just focus on one site and pull a lot of traffic

You can always do that but be extra careful while you do so..because you may never aware what is the current status of the website..it may even going to be expired in a week or two..
