question about name changing

I have had this name "musicvideocodesnow" since 2005. I want to start being more active in this community but I want to use my name that I use on all other forums which is "waraas". I was wondering if a mod or admin could change my name for me?

It causes all sorts of problems apparently.

I think you're stuck with it. Remember that it's also against the rules to open a duplicate account with a different name.

 

I hope they reconsider for me. On sitepoint I have 1,000 posts and I contribute a lot. However, if I dont get my sign on name I probably wont be posting that much here. I want to have the same name on all the forums so people know who I am.

 

Nope, it not going to happen. You have to live with what you have. I signed up with this name because of the site I had at the time. I kind of got use to it even when I sold the site. You live with your own decisions, I do not think with the member count DP has that they will care about a threat to not post. Do the best you can with the name you chose.

 

To be honest I shouldn't think that'll be any consideration for them at all. Things tend to be pretty black and white around here - the "my way or the highway" mentality.
