Like a lot of others Im getting frustrated with not being listed in DMOZ. There are a few categories that my site could be listed in including the most appropriate and my local regional category. Now I read somewhere that DMOZ did accept the same site into multiple categories if they where appropriate. Is this correct? People say to submit once then wait otherwise when you submit again you go to the back of the queue as it overwrites you previous submission. Is this true if submitting to a separate category? I have got board of waiting for my industry specific category so have submitted to my local regional one.
dmoz is most likely not going to list your site in every category that might be of some relevance. Submit your site to the most appropriate topical category and to a Regional category if applicable. Expect to be bored if you're watching and waiting for your site to be listed. Much better things to do Trying to contact editors is not one of them - most do not respond or provide an expedited review just because you ask.
Only submit to one topical category and one regional category. If you suggest your site to multiple categories, it will most likely be viewed as spaming the directory. If you resubmit the site to the exact same category, then yes, it will overwrite the previous one and send it to the bottom of the list if the editor views by date (which many do).
Thanks I should okay in what I’ve done then. 2 submissions, one to the most appropriate topic and one regional.
