Question About Moving Content from a Blog to HubPages. + rep to whoever can answer

I inherited a blog in a crappy niche, but the content is good. I would like to take the content and make various HubPages with it. Once I remove the content from the site, what can I do to get it off of Google search results so I don't get in trouble for duplicate content by HubPages? Also, how long will this process take?

Since you still own the domain (I assume it is on its own domain right?) why not just 301 redirect each page to its respective hubpage? This way, you not only don't get hurt for duplicate content, but google finds the hubpages faster and also transfers some "juice" from the old domain pages to the hubpages.

edit: If you don't want to do that, then what you should do is create a robots.txt that disallows whatever pages you want deindexed. Check out these links for more info on that:

If you did the 301 redirect the old pages would still be indexed for a while though.
