Hi Guys--- I have a news aggregation site that I'm paying for initial traffic in a variety of ways, but am having a hard time evaluating AdWords, which I am not yet using. When I go to the AdWords Traffic Estimator and check out the min. CPC for a newsmaker, let's say Pete Rose, it estimates a CPC of $.45-.64. Yet when I google "pete rose" there are no paid ad words. If I design a good landing page & that ends up with a decent quality score and clickthrough rate, would I eventually be able to get clicks for $.02 since there's no competition or is that $.45 a floor? I'd appreciate any advice.
Hi Eskimo, It depends on 2 main factors... the keyword itself & the quality of landing page. So if it's high demand keyword & not many competition than you can get the 2c. But you know what... I found that there are other factors involved, even other webmasters mentioned them. for instance -The history of your campaign... so the longer your ad is running the better. -CTR - if you get more people click on your ad the better which mean you've a good ad copy. Sometimes I start a project and it works good (4c - 5c min bid)for couple of weeks and then everything changes to 10c -20c. But again it depends on your niche...
