Hi, Its me again I now have another question. If i have a website that is related to computers(example) and if i buy high PR link on Jewlery website(Example) Will that make any difference in search engine position or SEO. I know it will increase my PR but i know to rank higher and to use other site PR it should be related to your site so do you think there is any benefit of buying unrelated PR links. Also will i be penalized if i buy lots of unrelated links
Think about it -- what do computers and jewelry have in common? answer: nothing Linking with websites outside your industry will disassociate your site with its main focus -- in both your visitors eyes and the search engines.
In short, 1) Yes, you can get higher PR if you just have high PR backlinks. You can also get good SEO results if the anchor tags in the backlinks contain your primary keyword. This is regardless of the site theme. The issue you need to understand is that there is a diminishing return on this strategy. For example: Get a backlink from a PR9 site(your lucky if you can get 1) and you get a huge boost in SEO regardless of the site's theme. Get a backlink from a PR5 website and it had better be a site (or a webpage on that site. this covers directories) with a similar theme as yours. Good luck.
I am getting PR7 PR8 and PR9 links and they are not related to linked sites at all however i can arrange to have content (anchor) of my choice so can you tell me it is worth spending my money because i cannot find high PR links in my niche
If you can get links from PRs at this level and your achor text is targeted you will see good SEO results over time. (taking for granted your on site optimization is up to speed) Why the SEO benefit from non related sites? It's because a lot of the high PR sites are not niche sites. Yahoo, Digg, Wikipedia etc. However they are very picky about what sites they recommend(with links) so if your site is interesting enough to be included the search engines will give you a boost. Good luck.
ok - here's what I understand. ANY backlinks are good, especially if they have a great PR. But make sure that what YOU link to is related to your site's theme AND content... below taken from http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/indexing-timeline/ Reading current feedback Those are the issues that I’ve heard of with supplemental results, and those have been resolved. Now, what about folks that are still asking about fewer pages being reported from their site? As if this post isn’t long enough already, I’ll run through some of the emails and give potential reasons that I’ve seen: - First site is a .tv about real estate in a foreign country. On May 3rd, the site owner says that they have about 20K properties listed, but says that they dropped to 300 pages. When I checked, a site: query shows 31,200 pages indexed now, and the example url they mentioned is in the index. I’m going to assume this domain is doing fine now. - Okay, let’s check one from May 11th. The owner sent only a url, with no text or explanation at all, but’s let’s tackle it. This is also a real estate site, this time about a Eastern European country. I see 387 pages indexed currently. Aha, checking out the bottom of the page, I see this: Linking to a free ringtones site, an SEO contest, and an Omega 3 fish oil site? I think I’ve found your problem. I’d think about the quality of your links if you’d prefer to have more pages crawled. As these indexing changes have rolled out, we’ve improving how we handle reciprocal link exchanges and link buying/selling. - Moving right along, here’s one from May 4th. It’s another real estate site. The owner says that they used to have 10K pages indexed and now they have 80. I checked out the site. Aha: This time, I’m seeing links to mortgages sites, credit card sites, and exercise equipment. I think this is covered by the same guidance as above; if you were getting crawled more before and you’re trading a bunch of reciprocal links, don’t be surprised if the new crawler has different crawl priorities and doesn’t crawl as much.
I'll through this one in. The single most important factor is the relationship between the anchor text and the page title of the IBL. Relevant page title + Relevant anchor text = Bingo!
I agree with this. I will not get into pr, but I will say this, if people new how to use high pr to their advantage they would find themselves not only with great rankings but great pr as well.
if u buy just link it will not help u much, yet hase small effect but if your topic is revelant then u get very good results, but if u have your own pr 7+ site we can manage it my little onpage seo, if u really have those u can give me i will show u how to use other topic high pr site.
