I have a question about the structure of links. I've wondered about this for quite some time, but just recently decided to learn more about SEO. My question is this: let's say that you want to increase your search rank for the keywords "shared hosting." If you have a signature link (or any link) that says "Affordable Shared and VPS Hosting," will that increase your search rank for "shared hosting" or does the link need to read exactly what your target keywords are, which would be "shared hosting?"
Google don't like these type of links any more so you need to build reputation in same industry so write good articles, guest posts and relevant link exchange. About keyword dont use exact keyword as anchor diversify your keyword with other keywords like "Affordable shared hosting","Cheap shared hosting"etc.
in case of anchor text google pay attention to the related anchor text..like if you want to rank for buy shared hosting, you can use the anchor purchase shared hosting along with buy sherd hosting..you can get the list these keywords associated with your keyword at adwords keyword tool.and about the signature link, there is no problem having the signature link on the forum.. and it is very nice if the content of the forum is similar to the keywords of your website. hope that helps, rakesh
Post panda case studies clearly shows that Anchor text have no longer the same value.I suggest his kind of mix these days to SEO practitioners. 1.Generic or URL 30% 2.Anchor based with mix of your targeted keyword. With Google manual team on round you have to show them you are trying to build links the natural way.Your content or site is that good that people are just linking to you rather than you are paying for these links to manipulate rank. You have to add in your target keyword and use your alternative keywords for ranking in your complete link profile.
Links must look natural. This means that they should be surrounded by the text associated with the subject matter to which they relate. It is important to differentiate the texts contained in the links. Indeed, it is best if the link that is most important to us was in the ratio of 20/80 to the rest of the links.
Yup right either it can be either Generic words/URL but ratio varies from case to case but I usually prefer and advice guys 70/30 ratio as I see many case studies reporting that anchor text do not have the same Impact on rank like before.
yes, it still will help in SEO. the exact keywords of course helping more but try to use multi type of keyword structure is actually good because it looks more natural
That used to work before. Now, it's better to use variations of your target keyword on your anchor text. This helps make the links more natural to search engines I suppose. Hope that helps. Have a good day!
I would not really bother with using Forums links for SEO at all. In terms of choosing the anchor text to link out on, steer clear of your target keyword. Do a search for your target keyword and find the related search terms at the bottom of the page. Choose those terms when you have control over the anchor text and mix it up as much as possible. Usually when I build a campaign, I split up my anchor text like this: 10% target keyword 20% URL anchor text 60% related phrases 10% call to action such as "Click Here" or "Read More"
