Alright was wondering if any of you web designers out there could help me out. I'm trying to decide which keywords to use for my site, but I really don't know how it all works.

Like would it be better to have: "game, game development, game programmer"

or would this be better: "game, development, programmer"

Like I don't understand how search engines use this so any insight would be really awesome.

    My website is: www.berathen.com
If you got any advice on what keywords I should use I would really appreciate it. I'm very new to this all.

Firstly, never ask a web designer about keywords. What do they know about it, other than what font and colours they like?
Secondly, from the look of what you've posted, you're thinking about the keyword meta tag - this is the least important element of seo - none of the major search engines use them.

In using your keywords, the first is better as something 'development' on it's own is much much too broad and generic, but really you need to do some proper keyword research to ascertain search volumes, and competition, and choose some useful long-tails for your site.
