Question About Inactive Keywords On Google

Discussion in 'Google AdWords' started by greatdeals20031, Jan 12, 2006.

I am currently bidding on several keywrods on ADWORDS.

I dont like to bid .30 or .40 cents per keyword.

    I am only bidding .05

If my keywords remain inactive, is it still possible to get impressions and of course clicks???

    Please advice.

No, if they are inactive that means that your ads won't be shown at all. They could become active again though if other people stop bidding.

    Matt...

just a doubt...i am not sure about this...

suppose if the bidder has bid for 5c and is inactive for the day...now assuming there are 5 other bidders for that keyword and assuming all their daily budgets are over by evening...then will not the inactive advertiser's ad be shown?

 i am not sure where, but i think i have read about this somewhere...

You're right, that could also cause an ad to become active again.

Well I have been running my ad now for several hrs. The weird thing is that there are about 250 impressions but no clicks, does this means that my ads are showing??

ys this means ur ad is showing up....

hav u activated ur content match options also or only search results options?
my guess is, that u have activated the content match options also. check it out. decide whether u want the content match also....else deactivate it for some time and check it out...

    just my thoughts...

If you don't want to pay more then .5 per click: No problem remember that you decide how much you pay per click, not the System.

You have 2 nice options to get traffic clicks for your .5 ads:

    - Use the content network: Turn on your content network, and you can also select a lower price for it (.3 for example);

    - try other keyWords: The sky is the limit, go to the keyword Tool and find a lot of different keywords - if you go close to the Adgroup limit (2000 keywords) you will find a lot of rest active keywords for .5

adwords bugets wont usually "run dy" be evening time. They show your ads spread out over the course of the day depending on your budget

If you have the content network activated it will still show on other sites as an adsense ad if your bid is high enough. The inactive keywords are just inactive for search.
