Question about hosting multiple sites

Is it possible for someone to figure what sites are hosted under the same hosting account? Like say I have hosting at host gator, is there any way people can find out that the websites I host are linked together by the same hosting account?
    Thanks!

It can be done with reversed dns lookup, but quite difficult.

You can use a site like http://dnscoop.com to check wich other sites are hosted on the same IP as yours.

Sites will be linked by sites like google, however its not likely that people will notice they are the same owner unless they are tech nerds :p

I see, thanks for the help. What about domain registration email look ups, is there a way to hide that?

You can purchase a private domain registration. They run pretty cheap, and you can get good deals all the time.

That would still not change the fact that people can lookup an IP and see wich sites are hosted on there.

But it it's a Hostgator shared account I highly doubt they will distinguish between his specific sites and the ones not owned by him. It's easy for a high-end server to handle way more than a thousand domains with little traffic.
