Hi all I see a lots company offer SEO services. Some of these companies can charge up to couple hundred dollar per hours. My question is What do they really do? i been online for while now and i know a lots of basic tricks and i do a lots research about SEO and most of them are give the same tips. So what exactly these companies or these individual do? I hope someone in here can help me understand this many thanks in advance
basically the seo should have a rock solid portfolio of clients with phone numbers and emails you can contact to verify their work. They should also show you their clients sites that they got to the first page of google, with their clients keywords. if you have been online for a while and know all the basic tricks, then i don;t think you need any SEO. lot of SEO services are crooks, and lot of them are incompretant. for sure there are some that can do you some real help but not knowing who they are is a gamble. i see post from so called SEO consultants here all the time with lame questions, what could they offer to you?
Wow...you seem to have something against SEO line. Any way it is a common knowledge that every trade has its good and bad sides. It is a must to do a research on the SEO firm that you are getting, as you know there are tons of so called SEO consultant that says they guaranteed Top 10 ranking in SERPS, but do you really know what kind of keywords you are ranked for. If you are going to rank for some keyword that no one seem to be searching, my suggestion is you better save your dollars. If you know the basic tricks, and interested in learning SEO I suggest, do it yourself! it will take a bit more effort and time, but once you control SEO techniques there is no limit for the things you can do on the web. If you still want to hire SEO services, I guess that one way to know if they are crooks, is from the things they promise you if they promise to much, something is fishy. the best SEOs represent themselves as consultants, and helpers. usually the guys that talk less, will give the best result
don;t get me wrong. i have nothing against professional SEO consultants. its just there are so many and its hard to know whos good or not. you said so yourself that "there are tons of so called SEO consultants..." which is pretty much what i said.
Thanks all for replied. Great info Here is a situation i am dealing with: Some guys from India want to do an SEO on my site for $300 and my traffic will increase 25%5 - 50% from search engine. Not bad ha? But when i ask him what technique he going to do, he will not answer me(red flag). I have read a lots tips here and there and i couldn't find any better way to increase SEO. Here is what i have: 1. i got very very friendly url 2. I did some link exchange so i do have backlink 3. I have submit over 1000 web directory 4. I even have an image alt"hell worl" 5. I even have some keyword before my image (freeworld_hi.gif) do i missing something? i couldn't figure out what he going to do my website

Many So called seos aren't doing nothing or do things that could hurt the site in SE Anyway i for exemple before starting any project tell client what to expect but you know 100% guarantees don't exist
Most SEOs do only two things for you. 1) They make sure that your site itself is search engine friendly. They doing this by going through your pages and making sure that the keywords are where they should be. 2) They either do link building for you or they will explain to you how to do it. If they won't tell you what they're going to do I would say find someone else.
do you read problogger.net? I dont think that he ever hired and SEO. Concentrate on your content with the basic SEO tips you have and you will be fine..
