question about hiding affiliate link

I've been using tiny url to change my hop link. Two questions.

    1. does this make it impossible for my sales to be tracked? will clickbank still be able to tell that it was me who referred a customer?

    2. Can tiny urls be hacked or revealed in any sort of way?

    thanks guys.

I find it easy to do a 301 redirect in .htaccess. And yes, clickbank still tracks the sale. When in doubt, click the link, and check the make sure your affiliate username is displayed at the bottom of the checkout page.

what do you mean? hacked and revealed?

for 1 they have preview feature, so you can go to tiny url and see exactly where each shortlink points to.

or you can run wget or some similar tool which will print out the chain of redirects.

You can just use a simple PHP redirect script, works fine :)

Beware of tinyurl, it sometimes make your sale lost. I don't know how real it is but better just use .htaccess.

when you use TinyUrl, you completely give up control of your sales channel. Sales pass thru this site... what if the site goes down?

I'm not going to use it because it seems unstable, but I don't know how you can say that when most buyers are people who use the internet for every day things and don't know what it is. Also, some of the biggest marketers out their use it in news letters and such.
