I am currently devloping a directory with a brand new domain, after a few days to my surprise it was picked up by googlebot, but when i search my site 18 results for http://www.mysite.... but 222 results for http://mysite. now my question is when I start promoting my domain is: to use the www. or not? Is it worth using a 301 direct? and will www.mysite and http://mysite have different page ranks and serps etc?

    Thanks

i would use the non www. just because it gives you shorter URLs. If I were you I would implement the 301 redirect asap so Google doesnt ding you for duplicate content or something equally stupid.
