i use google toolbar to know about a site ranking and sometimes i find some forums that rank high only in the index 1st page but when enter a section of that forum the pagerank tool don't show any ranking, would it be any use to backlink to such forums?

    Hi, nakama30

I think it is normal condition for inner pages on forums to have a "n/a" PR for it is hard to control the contents on inner pages of a forum. Of course, building backlinks from these pages is still helpful for SERP purpose.

    Have a nice day,

If the forum is very closely related to your niche and you don't have a long list of higher PR places to post, then yes. You may get some traffic and having a closely related site linking to you, even if the link isn't higher PR, is a good thing. Don't waste tons of time with it but if it takes you just a couple minutes to get a backlink from a site with a close relation to your niche, then that is time well spent in my opinion.
