Question about Forums.Digtalpoint.com IP checking.

    Hello,

    I have just signed up as I know a few people who come here, I'm from WebMastersTalk and felt it was to slow. Anyhow I am from Cardiff and use Virgin Media, this means it is likely that I am sharing the same IP as many other users, as they use a proxy server (It finally stops in July, but untill then my IP may be the same as others, then again it might not be at all!). I won't be active in Buy Sell Trade much so I doubt I will be able to "bump" any topic with the same IP as me ect. Anyhow please let me know what to do, would love to be part of forums.digitalpoint.com but if any of the admins here can let me know what to do, that would be great.

    2. I doubt you will have the same IP as anyone else. If you did then you wouldnt have been able to sign up as Shawn (owner) would need to have approved you and I am not sure he would have done as he is very busy.

    I'm curious too, what if my college campus has someone else on DP and I use the college PC's to login? Wouldn't I get screwed over then?

    If you think that your IP is shared by someone else too, it would be a wise to to notify some MOD about this. They will take care of that.

    That's not true. Shawn is not a machine to review all the account here. Everyone is able to sign up for more than one account and our mods do their best to stop them.

    And don't be afraid to get banned if you know you haven't done anything against the rules. Banned members can still PM the mods and explain their problem. But of course it's better to avoid that. Since you posted this thread moderators know that you might share one IP with someone else.

    well I'm not sure if anyone uses DP from my college. It just hit me after I looked at this thread!! I mean, there is a chance out of the thousands of students and tons of PC labs, that even 1 person could be here at DP.
