I've posted three ezine articles, that actually bring a bit of traffic to my site. However, they never show up as backlinks when I check them with a backlink checker. Are any others here experiencing this bizarreness, or do your ezine articles give you quality backlinks?
I have the same problem, I have several backlinks from articlebase, but never get backlinks from ezinearticles.
EZA is both do- and no-follow: http://blog.ezinearticles.com/2008/12/links-in-article-body-become-nofollowed.html (the blog post is from 2008 so i'm not 100% sure if its still valid): - Links in the article body is no-follow - Links in the resource box remain do-follow It also seems like their traffic has gone down the last months: http://siteanalytics.compete.com/ezinearticles.com/?src=3ss Besides this, i cant see any backlinks from EZA, not even in yahoo site explorer.
I think the only way to see all the backlinks (that google knows about anyway) is with Google webmaster tools. Someone can correct me if I am wrong but most of the tools out there will not show all backlinks. SEO Spy glass might possibly be an exception to that. Lee
I recently posted a couple of articles on ezinearticles and a backlink from one article shows up on my Google webmaster tools. I feel like Google has a way of disregarding some backlinks, not sure how or why, but I am thinking it may have something to do with traffic.
According to a video that I watched the other day from Matt Cutts, google webmaster tools shows all the back links that google knows about. Of course, he could be not really telling the truth or maybe google just doesn't know about your other Ezinearticles yet? I do also think that there is some merit to the idea that it disregards some of the links, I know that's what I would do if I was a search engine and saw a bunch of links from the same site. So maybe it only counts some of the ezine article links. I know the power is diminished if you have several links from the same page to one of your pages. Lee
Kiddo, It is not a waste of three great articles. One of the biggest benefits of ezine articles or any other article directory is that when you publish to article directories other webmasters are allowed to repost your articles on their sites provided that they leave your links intact. This means that the same well written article can get you many back links from a variety of sites giving it a much more powerful impact. So, you recieve backlinks from those that repost the articles and the links that submitted to ezine articles or any other article directory. The backlink checker was actually showing you the websites that are using the articles and links that you submitted to ezine articles.
Ezine is not as prior as before but you should still get a Backlink. Where did you check your backlinks, check them in google webmaster tools and yahoo site explorer.
I do get links from EZA and less link from articlesbase. Try submitting more articles and ensure your links work correctly.
Ezine Articles should definitely give you backlinks. I have several sites that rank very high in the search engines and the only backlinks they have come from Ezine Articles and a few sites that picked up the articles I posted there.
A lot of articles sites are nofollow. Best bet is to go to the site, look at an articles source and check the follow tags before posting. otherwise you risk deluting your keywords and potentially duplicating content.
Check out the link to see if it is "nofollow" or "dofollow" but for me my links on ezine do appear on backlink list
