Alright, there is probably an obvious answer to this question but I wanted to gather feedback from those that have tried this already and I think that this is probably the best place for it. If you write a unique article for Ezine Articles, can you then mass submit the same article to other article directories via software or a service? I know that it's possible to do this but my question is, will this get your article pegged as duplicate content, essentially rendering every other article after the first one that's indexed useless because of Google's algo's? My gut says that yes, it wouldn't really be worth the mass submission because once the article is indexed with EZA, it would get priority on that site with Google and everything else would carry much less value. Additionally, is it the same theory if you write a unique article for your blog and then post it as an Ezine Article as well? I'm really looking for real world experience from those that have tried this. Have you submitted the same article, verbatim, to EZA that you've submitted to other article directories en masse? And if so, what was the affect on the EZA, the site you were promoting and the additional article directories that you sent them to? Any light that you guys can shed is greatly appreciated.
You should write articles for the user and the directory, not for Google. With that said, yes you can submit your same exact unspun article to multiple directories. Sure, Google might only list the one posts at Ezine, but that doesn't mean your article won't get picked up by blogs and such. There are a number of people that make full-time income submitting the same articles to the top 5-10 directories. That's all you should use anyways. Don't worry about SEO when writing articles. Worry about writing articles that convert. Rankings will come in time.
I'm sure, submitting your article on some well-established article directories can somewhat help on your site in terms of backlinks and traffic. Google probably looking too at people's view that articles may exist in Ezine but cannot easily be seen by people so being listed on other article directories may do.
@digisaurus, I completely agree with writing articles for the user. I'm working on writing 30 articles (1/day) in a specific niche but I believe in adding value with content so that won't be an issue. That said, I've never really done article marketing on a larger scale and was just wondering about the relationship between SE's, article directories and duplicate content. @Wishbone, thanks for your input. Does anyone care to share their list of Top 10 article directories?
Think about this way: mass submission cause duplicates problem, BUT its other websites problem, not yours. You will get less juicy from the 2nd submission and on, but still juicy, more than zero. The only question is, do you have that much money (or man power) to do so.
You can submit it to as many places as possible...It's called "syndication". That is what Google itself is in the business of doing.
If I am not mistaken, for as long as it is really your article, it is just OK to re submit it to other article directory. To be safe, try to submit it first to Ezine. Then, after it was published live, try to re submit it to other article directory.
