Newbie webmaster. I was wondering what is the normal time to allow for a site to reciprocate a link to your site after you notify them you've linked to them. 1 Week? 3 days? I hate to give up on some of these sites but I'm thinking after 1 week they're not going to link to me.
This, like anything in the world of commerce, is by negotiation, but I would say longer than 2 weeks is way too long. However, if you are doing simplistic two-way or even three-way link exchanges, it's definitely a waste of time and may even get your site in trouble. Not recommended.
Get in trouble for link exchange? Serious? I thought it doesn't work that well anymore that's all, didn't know we could get into trouble for exchanging links?
If you thought the site was good enough to link to in the first place than just leave it up and try to contact the webmaster every so often with a polite email.
I would give them a week if your are trying to exchange links. Instead of trying to exchange links though, why don't you just concentrate on building one way links instead? This will give you better search engine results than if you exchange links.
Friends to establish a connection is a long-term task, requiring patience, if you do not mind, you can connect to my site
No long wait for this process. within couple of hours. If they took more than a week, you can confirm that they wil lift your link within a month. It is highly advisable to check the linked site with vigil at least weekly once.
