I know that website affiliate links give the affiliate the referring website information (not exactly sure how though) Is this also true for emails? I ask because one of my affiliates prohibits any type of email marketing but it's a perfect fit for my email list (who is pretty targeted) If they won't be able to tell where the link came from I'll be fine though because I'm not worried about any spam complaints with the offer I plan on using.
This might be a better question for the Affiliate forums. I personally dont know much about Email campaigns, but you can use url redirect services like www.tinyurl.com, www.ipthing.com, www.metamarks.net ..etc to hide the url and i believe the referral would be from those domains.
They'd probably notice it eventually though. Why don't you ask your affiliate how to go about this directly? Just explain the situation to them and inform them that you're requesting advice on how to proceed. Be warned however, if they really do prohibit ANY type of email marketing, then there's nothing you'll be able to do with this particular affiliate. But I'd still ask them anyway just to be on the safe side.
I think I'll just take the risk and email market through a redirection service, thanks for that tip BTW.
