I was wanting to do the whole eBay thing again. Here's the problem, my previous eBay account was shared by a business partner who screwed me over. I got all the fees taken care of and everything, but now the problem is I still have bad feedback on the account due to the whole thing. My question here is two-sided. First part, can I just open a new account and use it and have no problems? Or do I need to close my previous accounts, wait on them to be verified and closed, then re-open a new one. Or are either of these not viable? Thanks for any help regarding this issue. -Jesse
Hi Jesse, You can open a new account with eBay and it shouldn't be a problem. Infact they even let you link accounts (or they link them themselves behind the scenes with matching address, phone number information etc) This will of course give you all the restrictions of a new account and 0 feedback, but it'll be a blank slate so to speak. One thing to note, make sure your ex partner doens't have access to the other account still if that account gets banned or suspended for any reason it will take down your new account as it'll be linked, so just be aware of that. There are ways to set up a new account which is totally unlinked but in this case I dont think its necessary as the old account isn't going to damage your new on in anyway and your not looking at spreading (suspicious) items out over many accounts which is the primary reason people do this. Good luck - Danny
I think you should close the old account and start a new one. People do look at your feedback score and if it's bad then they are reluctant to buy from you. The situation with your partner is unfortunate and a lot of people do have their reputations ruined under those circumstances. I hope and wish you all the best.
@Sky9 No problem. cl @Gorvene, theres no need for him to close the old account - he can just start a new one with clean feedback. Infact it would be foolish to close the old one, after 6-12 months the feedback will return to netural, ok - the comments will still be there but its worth having a backup a account, you could sell some items through the account and slowly build up its feedback, once the negative comments are off the first page of the feedback (and the feedback score says 100% anyway - and will also show no negatives in 12 months) no one is going to start scrolling through all the feedback. Its also good to keep an aged eBay account alive.
it is not possible if you still use your old paypal and data. It is against ebay policy to have 2 or more accounts. but if you still need it, you should open with different data's. Your brother/mother/grandpa .... anyone. offcourse with different paypal also. try to avoid simmilar user name and dont use same passwords. if you still use old accounts, you should clear browser cache and reset the modem to have all cookies clear and different ip address. that is only suggestion. I have some accounts and get banned due to above case. Now, i'm still try to run more than 1 account again.
Hi all you can do is try keep same one open a new one just try you will soon find the answer regards Glen
creating a new account using your same details will link your accounts and end losing both accounts in the event of one of them having any trouble!
Even if you close your account, still all your details and documents are saved in ebay database so when you register again using any similar details, the system will catch you automatically, even if you make some minor changes, you will be catched sooner or later manually.
Yes you can have multiple eBay accounts, though I'm not 100% sure about this, but please make sure you stick to your sole paypal account because it's against their policy to have multiple paypal accounts.
If it was so easy like what you say, no one would have any trouble with ebay and just solve his big problems by doing your advice!!
