Hi, until now I still do not understand about duplicate content. I am not asking about it is used as a filter or not but what I want to ask is if: 1. I have an original content then someone duplicated my content. What will happen to my original content? Will Google filter it or decrease its value or not? 2. How does Google know which is the original content and which is not?
Good question. I'm not sure if anyone can give you a definitive answer. I've actually seen originals filtered out of the SERPs so make of that what you will.
content where google indexed content first i,e content age domain authority how much content is revelant to domain Mostly on this 3 google will filter content. serps depend on domain authority if big site copy your content it will still rank top of you.
Here are some of my thoughts on duplicate content. 1. there is too much hype over duplicate content, check out the fist link in my sig, the article directory has about 13,000 pages indexed, its an article db that has been used on SOOOOO many article directories, all my article directories share the same DB but all the sites get indexed very well in Google. 2. If there is a site with higher PR than you with the same content they will unfortunately rank better than you even if they copied the content from you. 3. Concentrate on keyword related backlinks to your homepage to increase your own sites PR that will then pass down to the rest of your site and hopefully raise the SERP's of your inner pages etc, also get some deeplinks to help those inner pages and specific pages you want to rank well. Hope the info is of some use.
