I have a question about a blog I'm thinking about starting up... For example I was thinking about creating an basketball blog... I want to have some of the most recent and up-to-date news on there as I possible can about different things that are happening around the NBA. The only way I can possible think about doing this is by going to different sites and posting articles based on there info. I would include the source of my info at the top of the article... Would that be wrong in like the eyes of Google? It isn't like I'm going to have it automated or anything like that. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks,
If you are writing the post as unique then it should be ok but if you are posting an exact replica of another article then you might hit a wall in regards to ranking well.
Its not a question of listing the source. Think about it from a Search Engine point of view. What use would it be to them or their visitors to list a number of different urls that has the same article? Doing so lowers the value in their results. This is a reason why Google is moving more towards having unique content. I'm not saying you'll get nowhere with duplicating content but there is a big chance you'll have a tough time trying to get it to rank. My opinion is write your own unique content, you'll probably have a better chance getting good results.
just get a part of the article. if you can edit it then edit it. or just get the whole idea of that article and just create your own.
