I have a question about duplicate content. One part of my business is that I own a direct sales company and offer company websites to my consultants. The consultant websites are all hosted on the same domain and server and are basically for those consultants who want to have some type of online presence, but don't necessarily want to (or don't know how to) create their own site from scratch. Right now, the consultant sites are mostly just an e-commerce store but my thinking was that adding content would help them provide better value to their visitor. Would the duplicate content issues apply to the e-commerce store as well ? and should I consider offering several different styles / templates / content for consultants to choose from so as to not get caught in the duplicate content trap?
Well, I read alot of stuff about duplicate content, alot of people will disagree with me but as for knowing how most duplicate check workers and not google. First google I-Match learn how duplicatea are fond. The quickest way to find duplicates is by spidering the hole site Takeing all the text in it coverting it to small Char's and Sorting the letters removing known words like Yes,No,A,I blabla removing very rare words well I can't set an example because they are so rare from A-Z then Hashing the file to a signature. Now this signature is stored somewhere. Now alot of people will disagree with me and will tell use some tools like COPYRIGHT TOOLS ( http://copyscape.com/ ) or other that i seen in SEO companies like that compare that code they say you payed should be less then 75% identical. The chanses are they copyed your site char by char and not change topics / Headders and some other words like a small signature of the sites is highly improbable. But if they did google will filters one out. No clue how google does it from my experience google somtimes filters the wrong site.
