I have a few domains that I brought on 8/1/2009 and will expire around 8/1/2010. I registered them with the hosting site LimeDomains but I'm wanting to transfer to GoDaddy since they're a little more reliable. The question I have is will my rankings on search engines be affected by this change? Also, when I do transfer, will my domains still expire on 8/1/2010 or will they expire one year after the day I transferred it? One last thing, will the age of my domain be reset once I transfer? Thanks!
First,I'd like to tell you that new registered domain name can't be transfered within 60 days.So you still have to wait if you really want to transfer it to godaddy. Then, the rank is not determined by the domain registrar you chose. But in the course of transfer, there'll be some delay which may have a little effect of your website work. This is not a big problem. So don't worry. And you should renew your domain for 1 year if you want to transfer to godaddy. So the expiration date will be 8/1/2011.For the last question, the age of your domain name will not be affected by the transfer. It's still caculated from the initial registration date.
Please note that while you transfer to Godaddy, you need to renew your domains for one more year at least.
You can transfer your domain at any time. You must have an account in godaddy. So create your account first. Your rank will never hurt in search engine. Your website will offline for few hours during transfer process.
Nothing will be affected. Do not worry about that. The main issue you need to worry about is uptime and that connected to the web hosting provider not to the domain name registrar
