Hey everyone, I know there's a ton of Clickbank & web design experience on this forum, this may be a basic question but I'm kinda new so please bare with me(I'll really appreciate it). My question is regarding the actual words within a domain hold. If I have a domain name about forex software (for example), and I choose the domain name ForexSoftwareOnline.com, will my website have a good chance of showing up in the SERPs because of the domain name I'm using?? I know it would for ForexSoftware.com but how about ForexSoftwareOnline.com?? Or does the online at the end just kill it's chances. Thanks a bunch for any & all responses
I probably should not be saying this but I have a site called Forex Software Robots and that is basically what the url is and it ranks second in Google for the exact term. The site has very few back links as I lost interest in the topic pretty quickly but does show you the value of the domain name
Actual keywords in Domain name carry great importance but only if your other SEO factors are also good. Just don't relay on domain name and give equal importance to On page and off page optimization, then keywords in your domain name will act like a bonus and you will certainly get benefit.
A quick answer is "Yes". It's better if you can have an exact keyword domain like wowstrategyguide.com. thewowstrategyguide.com will still be good but not as good as wowstrategyguide.com (as far as I've seen) Also you have to note that a domain alone won't do any benefit, you have to provide several links over a period of time with the appropriate anchor text(s) to rank good on Google for your keyword(s). Also choose the keyword wisely, don't go for the one that's too competitive. Now what kind of competition is acceptable to you, it all depends upon your own SEO budget & capability.
a keyword rich domain will give you a teeny boost all other things equal. But to expect to rank just because you have keywords in your domain is an idea that isn't going to happen. All the type in domains went bye bye years ago.
Keyword in domain name is obviously a very high ranking factor in SEO. That's why these premium names domain names sell for so much. If there is 1 available do the on-page and off page stuff and that should be enough in most of the average competitive niches.
